Family Connect Volunteer Opportunity

Family Connect is a community-wide event that is held each spring to help connect low-income or struggling families with much-needed services.  Booths will offer services and information in the areas of health, job readiness, food resources, child care and summer programs, financial planning, and legal guidance.  This event is a great opportunity to serve the hardworking families of Southern Nevada!

Volunteers are needed to help support the success of this event!  During the event, volunteer duties will vary, but include escorting clients between services, checking clients in and out of the event, and helping with giveaways.   Can’t stay for the whole event?  Volunteer as part of the set-up team prior to the event!

2013 Southern Nevada Homeless Census

Ring in the New Year by volunteering with Help Hope Home and the Southern Nevada Regional Planning Coalition’s 2013 Southern Nevada Homeless Census on January 24th or January 25th!  Work during the day?  No problem!  This volunteer opportunity takes place in the early hours of the morning, with volunteers reporting to their deployment station at 1:00 a.m. for the urban census on the 24th and 4:30a.m. for the rural census on the 25th.  The census is a point-in-time count performed to assess the number of people experiencing homelessness in the region. An accurate count allows funders and service providers to determine the types and level of services needed.

Project Homeless Connect

Calling all volunteers!  Contribute to the community event that has been serving  Southern Nevada’s homeless population for the last 21 years.

Project Homeless Connect (PHC) is a resource fair for homeless individuals and families that convenes over 90 service providers and 700 volunteers to serve over 3,000 individuals.   This year, PHC is on Thursday,  December 6th at Cashman Center.

The resource fair focuses on serving those who are currently homeless and those at risk of homelessness by providing important services in one convenient location.  Past years have included service providers ranging from the area’s court systems and veterans’ services to hairstylists and veterinarians.

Volunteers are needed for morning, afternoon, and all-day shifts.  They will help out with various duties including client check-in, escorting clients between service providers, and assisting with giveaways and check-out.  This is a great opportunity for both individuals and groups to serve our community!
