School is Out for Service

July 6, 2012
ImageOn May 2, United Way of Southern Nevada’s Volunteer Center partnered with the School-Community Partnership Office to honor Clark County’s most dedicated high school volunteers at the 2012 NGAGE (Next Generation Actively Gaining Experience) Ceremony. Ninety-three students from 27 high schools were recognized for giving over 12,000 hours of service to their communities!  The event was held on the runway at Fashion Show, and Dana Roselli of 8 News Now served at the Master of Ceremonies.  Both Fashion Show and 8 News Now are dedicated supporters of the NGAGE program.

The 2011-2012 school year officially ended on June 7, bestowing the students of southern Nevada with more time to volunteer. NGAGE participants have been encouraged to do the bulk of their service hours during the summer, so if your organization has projects coming up that are good for or geared toward teen volunteers, please contact Tiegen Kosiak at TiegenK@uwsn.org or 702-892-2318.
