Call for National Day of Service Projects

July 6, 2012
ImageThough summer just recently arrived, United Way of Southern Nevada’s Volunteer Center would like to get its fall calendar together as soon as possible.  Each autumn, the Volunteer Center plans large scale volunteer projects for 9/11 Day of Remembrance and for Make a Difference Day.

The theme for Make a Difference Day 2012 is “24 Hours of Service in a 24 Hour Town”!  To truly embody this theme, we need volunteer projects which occur every hour of the day and night on October 27.  Projects can be done on-site, at home, outside, etc. and can involve large groups, small groups, or just a few individuals. The more opportunities and the more varied their times, the better!

If your organization would like to plan a volunteer event with the Volunteer Center for either one of these service days, please contact Robin Kelley at RobinK@uwsn.org.  If you already have an event planned, please contact Jacob Murdock at JacobM@uwsn.org so that we can get your opportunity posted as soon as possible!  We look forward to partnering with you this fall!
